In this video we are looking at two of the most powerful photo editors available, Photoshop and Affinity Photo. We are going to explore one of the most confusing features that’s common to both. If you’re using Photoshop it’s the Blend If control and in Affinity its Blending Ranges. These blending controls allow you to blend different layers in an image based on the tones. If you want an effect to be seen only in the lightest or darkest tones, then these blending controls are an easy way to do achieve this. But you can achieve so much more when you understand how they work.
This tutorial assumes you understand image tones and tonal ranges. If you’re unsure, start by watching my Levels video
