WATCH: Klobuchar says ‘we need to reverse the horrific nature of these Trump judges’ PBS NewsHour anchor and managing editor Judy Woodruff pointed out in the Democratic debate that President Donald Trump has confirmed nearly 200 federal judges who can shape federal law for decades to come. On whether Trump’s appointees would make it harder for her, as president, to enact her agenda, Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., said yes, and referenced her response to Supreme Court Brett Kavanaugh during his Senate Judiciary Committee hearing. Klobuchar’s comments about her father's struggle with alcoholism led to a heated response from Kavanaugh, for which he later apologized. "I stood my ground," Klobuchar said of that exchange. Klobuchar is one of the seven Democrats vying for their party's 2020 presidential nomination who met on the stage for the sixth Democratic debate on Dec. 19, hosted by the PBS NewsHour and POLITICO.
