Neckline change to suit the fabric. Rhapsody 'winter dress' (Love Notions). Facings , yoke & more.

A blouse can be a dress and dress can be a blouse, right? Most of the time it’s possible. I’m sharing how I adapted the construction of the Rhapsody blouse (Love Notions) to amazing heavy lux crepe fabric for the design to work. I have also lengthened it into a dress and used the bishop sleeve option. There are many sewing aspects in this episode, as usual.


Up Close and Personal features:
*Lengthening the blouse

Specifics:

*Size Large, standard bust

*Lengthened the blouse by 13.5” keeping the curved hem

*Drafted a facing for the front and sewed it to the lining yoke to form a complete facing for the neckline

*The inner yoke seam was enclosed to the main yoke ad back sandwiched in between

*Hemmed with bias tape and sewn by hand

*Bishop sleeve option
