Two Ignite Institute freshmen accused of threatening to shoot up the school

Two Ignite Institute freshmen accused of threatening to shoot up the school ERLANGER, Ky. (WKRC) - Two freshmen at an Erlanger school are facing charges Tuesday morning after allegedly making threats to shoot up the school.

At 3:30 p.m. on Monday, a staff member at Ignite Institute told the school resource officer of a reported threat made by two students. That school resource officer interviewed one of the students and his parents at his Taylor Mill Home. Two other deputies talked to the other student and his parents at their Hebron home.

One of the students admitted to the threat but said he was just joking.

The other student showed the deputies a Snapchat post he sent to other students that read, "Don't come to school tomorrow". He'd added a green gun emoji and a dynamite emoji.

Both boys were charged with terroristic threatening and taken to the Campbell Regional Juvenile Detention Center. Both were set to appear in juvenile court Tuesday.
