Day 4 of demo on the Dilly Dilly house! Not as much happened this day - we were exhausted from the heat, and the previous days labor. Laurel faces her fear of spiders (sort of.) More crawl space access holes were cut into the floors. We discovered termite damage in the kitchen floors, so I needed to peel back the old linoleum flooring to see how far the damage spread. Dad also cut a new doorway into the utility room, which worked better for the new layout, to discover the original exterior door frame! Laurel's parents bought a farmhouse in the spring of 2019. Built in 1915, it has so much charm but hasn't had much updating since its original construction.
We do our best to recycle as much of the materials as possible, but it's always amazing to see how much waste remodels and construction creates! Half the battle is just keeping up cleaning the work space - a clean space is a safe space!
