Defecting Chinese 'spy' 'offers' trove of intel to Australia

Defecting Chinese 'spy' 'offers' trove of intel to Australia A self-confessed Chinese spy says he has offered a trove of intelligence information to Australia’s domestic spy agency, ASIO.
Wang Liqiang says he has turned against Beijing and revealed the identities of senior Chinese military intelligence officers in Hong Kong.
He also claims to have provided details on how Beijing's operatives fund and conduct interference operations in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Australia.
Wang is now seeking asylum and says he could face the death penalty if he returns to China.

Nick McKenzie, an investigative journalist at The Age and the Sydney Morning Herald who has spoken to Wang, talks to Al Jazeera about the developments.
