Commemorating Mahatma Gandhi, the “Simple Saint of Truth”

Commemorating Mahatma Gandhi, the “Simple Saint of Truth” SRF/YSS President Brother Chidananda commemorates Mahatma Gandhi at the Mahatma Gandhi World Peace Memorial on October 2, 2019, Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary. Quoting from Gandhi and from Paramahansa Yogananda’s words about this “simple saint of Truth,” Brother Chidananda speaks on how Gandhi’s enduring message of nonviolence can be embodied by us all.

Located at the SRF Lake Shrine in Pacific Palisades, California, founded by Paramahansa Yogananda in 1950, the Mahatma Gandhi World Peace Memorial includes a 1000-year-old sarcophagus containing the only portion of Gandhi’s ashes outside of his native India.

Brother Chidananda also delivered a talk, “A Tribute to Mahatma Gandhi” at the Lake Shrine Temple on the evening of October 2. View the entire talk:
