I invited some friends over and started screwing off the cabinet doors and got them off the hinges, we then took the doors to the garage so that we can sand them down and degauss them and paint them. This takes a few hours and you will be tired lol
Then we can back inside and started working on the body of the cabinets, while they were still connected to the wall we went ahead and sanded them down, degassed them and painted them. When we were painting the cabinets it took about 3 coats of the white, if we only used 1 coat some of the brown color would start to seep through in certain parts.
After sanding and painting we went to Home Depot to go and buy some new shinny handles, the handles were more expensive then I would have liked them to be, but what can you do?
Surprisingly one of the harder things to do is nail the doors back to the body of the cabinet, the hinges we bought were a little bigger so we could not screw them into the original holes which means we had to eye ball that the doors were straight, and I honestly say we got 95% of the doors straight.
Be warned that remodeling this kitchen took about a month, we still have a 9-5 job and we got tired and so many other excuses that, hope you like the video and good luck.
