For any copyright, please send me a message.  Hurricane Dorian could be the strongest storm to hit central Florida in more than 30 years as it threatens major theme parks and holiday resorts.  Florida has declared a state of emergency as the life-threatening hurricane gains strength and picks up speed while churning through warm waters in the Atlantic.  It could be a major Category 3 storm when it makes a direct hit late Sunday or early Monday and a powerful Category 2 hurricane when it passes through the Orlando area.  Residents have been told to prepare for the worst and holidaymakers' plans have been thrown into uncertainty, with Walt Disney World telling visitors to keep checking local weather reports.  Has your holiday been disrupted by Hurricane Dorian? Email webnews@mirror.co.uk.    So far the theme park is due to open as scheduled as visitors celebrate the opening of the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge attraction.  According to the latest forecast track, which could change, the hurricane's eye is set to pass within five miles of Disney World on Monday, meteorologist John Belski tweeted.  Dorian's main threats are likely to be 129mph winds, up to 12ins of rain, a coastal storm surge, flash flooding, huge waves and rip currents.    Florida Governor Ron DeSantis warned all residents on the state's east coast to plan for a disaster and stock up on seven days of supplies, including food, water and medicine.  Dorian also threatens to disrupt flights and cruise ship journeys.  The spaceport in Cape Canaveral began its hurricane preparations on Wednesday.    Dorian - currently a Category 1 storm - was about 150 miles north-west of San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Thursday morning after sideswping the Caribbean without any major damage.  The storm is expected to become a major hurricane on Friday as it moves well east of the Bahamas, which could see up to 6ins of rain and flash flooding.  Maximum sustained winds were near 85mph with hurricane-force winds extending 15 miles from the centre and tropical storm-force gusts to 90 miles, the National Hurricane Center said.  Jeffrey Simmons, the Bahamas' acting director of the Department of Meteorology, said severe weather could strike the south-east Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos on Friday.  Dorian could cause problems for the US for days.  After making landfall and tracking across Florida it could head north to Georgia or South Carolina.  Disney World and Universal Orlando have told customers to check their hurricane policies and watch their social media accounts for updates on any potential disruption.  Both are due to open as scheduled over the weekend and Monday, which is Labor Day, a national holiday, in the US.  Disney World's guest service account told one Twitter u
