Displaying an OTT slingshot made from a split and matched Maple log... I really liked the white stain (Minwax) that I used on my last build so I did so again here with this pocket OTT slingshot. Instead of spraying it with lacquer as done previously, I tried some Krylon triple clear glaze spray which I gave it four coats with. I then rubbed back the bumps and shine with a 3M ultra fine sanding pad. I think the glaze has a better feel and is more grippy than the lacquer and it was an easier product to use. I've made a few slingshots before by splitting a log and then matching up the halves and gluing together. This maple log had some decent spalting and grain action which shows up nicely. I call this one "Yeti".
