Boris Johnson knows how to get his message out to the people.

He doesn't wait for the press to ask, he gets the public to ask and answers direct and this is something I said was coming.

At 12:15 this afternoon, the Prime Minister of the UK opened himself up to the country via Facebook live and answered what he called unpasteurised and unmediated questions from the citizenry for the first ever People's Prime Ministers Questions.

And the first question came from Luther in Cheshire who asked how was the PM going to deliver Brexit with no movement from Brussels and lots of opposition from other politicians, to which Boris said that the questioner had asked the crucial question and he went on to say:

"There’s a terrible kind of collaboration, as it were, going on, between people who think they can block Brexit in parliament and our European friends.

"And our European friends are not moving in their willingness to compromise, they’re not compromising at all on the withdrawal agreement even though it’s been thrown out three times, they’re sticking with every letter, every comma of the withdrawal agreement - including the backstop - because they still think that Brexit can be blocked in parliament.

"So the awful thing is the longer that goes on, the more likely it is of course that we will be forced to leave with a no-deal Brexit.

"That’s not what I want, it’s not what we’re aiming for. But we need our European friends to compromise. The more they think that there’s a chance that Brexit can be blocked in parliament, the more adamant they are in sticking to their position."

And that pretty much sums that situation up I think - but in a more polite way than most of us would.

Boris went on to answer other questions about such things as the union of the UK, his unwillingness to schedule another election, healthcare and crime.

I've got to say he does a very good and engaging job of talking direct to the viewer through the camera.

And as he already has a history in printed media, based on this performance there's probably a lucrative live media career on TV or radio waiting for him once he's finished with being a politician.

And as to whether or not the questions are pre-known to him I have no idea.

But, I've left a link to the facebook stream in the comments section below, so you can have a look and make your own mind up.
