What Sort of Modern Classic Would I Buy for £2,000?:

Thanks to once again to a suggestion from Matt, who runs the mattsbeamer Youtube channel ( I have decided to look at what sort of cars I would buy (for myself) for a range of suggested budgets and occasions.

Let us continue our series with looking at modern classics (which I will define as being made between 1980 and 1999), set ourselves a budget of £5,000, not stray more than 50 miles away from the Lloyd Vehicle Consulting headquarters and avoid write offs, anything which has done more than 100,000 miles, project cars, anything without an MOT and preferably find something with decent service history. This time, we uncover some really, really tasty cars, and I get far too excited about a Maestro 1.6 automatic. Nothing untoward, then!

1986 Vauxhall Cavalier Mark II Convertible:

1989 Jaguar XJ-S V12 HE:

As an independent vehicle consultant, I take potential buyers through the whole car buying process from choosing a make and model to a vehicle handover and road tax. In addition to information on this service, I also have a selection of written and video reviews of cars that I have owned, hired, borrowed or have somehow come into my possession. Please use the Contact Me page on my website to get in touch, visit my Facebook page for latest updates and share this video if you like it! Thank you for watching.
