A police commissioner in Detroit was arrested and jailed for disorderly conduct after a city board meeting on the use of facial recognition. Police Commissioner Willie Burton claims the board was trying to silence his objections to the use of facial recognition by police but the chairwoman claimed he was being disruptive. The use of facial recognition has been a hot topic in the city of Detroit after they spent more than one million dollars in software as part of Detroit’s Green Light Project.
