In recent weeks economic tensions between China and the US have been growing. This Monday, the US Trade Representative’s office released a list of Chinese goods, worth about $300 billion, which Trump threatened to hit with a 25 percent tariff. Today China announced retaliatory tariffs on $60 billion of US imports.
The rising tensions between the US and China have affected international stock markets. Shares of companies that rely heavily on Chinese goods dropped at the beginning of the week.
