Filmmaker John SIngleton passed away on Monday, April 29, 2019 at the age of 51. Actors, such as Ice Cube, Samuel L. Jackson and Regina King mourned his loss on social media. According to UPROXX, former president Barack Obama also took to Twitter to say a few words. Obama expressed his condolences and mentioned his debuting film, “Boyz n the Hood.” He said: “He opened doors for filmmakers of color to tell powerful stories that have been too often ignored.”
