We have a very human-centered view towards nature. As humans, we tend to think that we are special beings separated from the rest of nature and regard ourselves privileged to rule over and exploit nature. This human-centered thinking is deeply established in the way our society operate and how we treat the world, being at the core of the capitalist demise of environmental disasters and damaged ecosystems. We need to depart from divisive thinking that separates humans from animals and nature and adapt a thinking that encompass multitude of species.
In 'We Live in a World Summoned, Dreaming of Total Control', the viewer is lead through the world of invisible but crucial entities of bacteria and micro organisms. The fluid transitions from scenes of different dimension also imply that the spaces as they may differ in scale, are nonetheless connected.
The world we live in is not absolute. We tend to think that it is impossible to change the way we live because the system is greatly established. However, the reality we live in is only one possible form out of many and therefore contingent. The world is summoned in this way and it is possible to summon it in a different way and possibly one that is more for coexistence.
The world of bacteria teaches us that the world is not made up of separate entities but is a primal soup and we all come from little entities becoming with each other.
