After seeing another channel with this modification I decided it was worth a look. To test i wanted to not drill or fix anything permanently so voiding warranty, if this works ok I will buy new release levers and drill them for the cord to pass thru with a knot on the underside, might also add P clips to the tubes and use countersunk nuts/bolts /washers/stainless steel to hold the tube in place over cable ties. For now though just waiting on the kayak toggles to arrive to complete the modification and see how they perform out on the mountain.
One point to note, i had originally moved the release levers to the inside by swapping the mechs over from left to right, however this limited the amount of holes in the backs to pass ties thru so i swapped them back to the outside.
Tube is 8mm beer line.

On the way 2 kayak toggles to make pulling the cord easier than just having a loop, although a loop would work.
