Widespread protests grip region as Centre tables Citizenship Amendment Bill

The All Assam Students Union and several other organisations took out a torch rally in Eastern Assam town of Dibrugarh.
Hundreds of protesters took to the streets in protest against the #CitizenshipAmendmentBill.
The opposition parties of Assam, several students' organisations and other civil society bodies joined hands in protest against the Citizenship Amendment Bill at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.
Meanwhile, protests also took place in Shillong where the activists of the KSU took to the streets opposing the Citizenship Bill. The KSU also slammed the State Government for allegedly failing to tackle influx.
