Lord Mountbatten, the last viceroy of India, was not willing to grant us independence unless the country gets partitioned into India and Pakistan. All the Congress working committee members like Nehru, Patel, Azad visited Mountbatten and gave their consent for the country's partition. Later they came to Gandhiji and told him about their consensus for the country's partition. Then tears rolled out of Gandhiji's eyes. Gandhiji then said: 'Before giving your consent for the country's partition, you must have torn my body into two pieces using a saw'. Saying so, Gandhiji wept. Such was Gandhiji's patriotism. It was burning patriotism. Gandhiji wept at the time of partition into India and Pakistan itself. Currently an attempt is being made to convert every district into a separate state. Nobody is concerned about the country at all. When Gandhiji wept, Rajaji said: 'How many ever times your body may be torn into pieces, the country's partition is not going to stop. It is God's will. It is God's plan. Without Pakistan, country's independence is not possible. There is no point in making an attempt to mingle with the muslims when they are unwilling to do so. ( Take your own example at home. When the mother in law and daughter in law are unwilling to mingle together, the daughter in law is being told to set up a separate family) However Gandhiji didnot understand this small logic. He possessed a burning patriotism. It was not an ordinary patriotism but a burning patriotism.
