To keep this spiritual awareness moving forward it is good to keep a journal
God will continually be providing clues to help you understand root issues
If you see fruit, there is always a root
“We must not discern solely by what the eyes see, or the ears hear,
but rather must use gifts of Holy Spirit insight
to penetrate beyond events and circumstances.
We must look, as God does, upon the heart.”
ACTIVE HOLY SPIRIT LISTENING
We will see the importance of listening and establishing the trust
necessary to allow people to share their lives.
Sensitive listening occurs in three ways:
we listen with our minds;
with our empathetic personal spirits;
and with an ear to what God wants to tell us.
Our listening results in information gathering which will lead us
to areas of woundedness, helping us to recognize fruit-to-root patterns.
Matthew 7
16 You will know them by their fruits.
Do men gather grapes from thorn-bushes or figs from thistles?
17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.
19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
1 Corinthians 9 (Message)
19-23 Even though I am free of the demands and expectations of everyone,
I have voluntarily become a servant to any and all in order to reach a wide
range of people… I didn’t take on their way of life.
I kept my bearings in Christ—
but I entered their world and tried to experience
things from their point of view.
I’ve become just about every sort of servant there is in
my attempts to lead those I meet into a God-saved life.
I did all this because of the Message. I didn’t just want to talk
about it; I wanted to be in on it!
Ephesians 4
11-12 And He Himself gave some to be
apostles, some prophets, some evangelists,
and some pastors and teachers,
for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry,
for the edifying of the body of Christ,
14 that we should no longer be children,
tossed to and fro…
15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things
into Him who is the head—Christ
16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit
together by what every joint supplies,
…by which every part does its share,
causes growth of the body
for the edifying of itself in love.
Matthew 7
1 “Judge not, that you be not judged.
2 For with what judgment you judge,
you will be judged; and with the measure you use,
it will be measured back to you.
3 And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye,
but do not consider the plank in your own eye?
4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck
from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye?
5 Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye,
and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye..
