Meghalaya govt to urge Centre to implement ILP in state The Meghalaya Legislative Assembly on Thursday unanimously passed the resolution to urge the centre to implement the Inner Line Permit.
Meanwhile, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said that ILP is not one person's victory or loss, instead, every citizen of the state has played a role to ensure that the state moves forward.
Stating that the resolution carries weight as it was adopted by the Assembly, the Chief Minister said that now the Government would move the Centre to include Meghalaya in the preamble of the Eastern Bengal Frontier Regulation Act 1873.
