India is a developing nation. Development need not necessarily mean just financial or infrastructure development. We need to develop and evolve our Mentality as well. This Independence Day we ask an important question via the story of Shagun and Samir titled Collateral Damage. A journalist Samir finds a girl, Gungun, hiding in his car as he returns home from an assignment. Gungun tells him of the atrocities menstruating women have to undergo when they are sent to animal sheds called Gaokors. To add to this, a village chief, Yashwant, tries to feel her up that morning. She hits him and flees and hides in his jeep cause had she been caught, Yashwant would have killed her. Samir and sister Seema want to help her. But Yashwant has other plans.
