Forging A Shaving Sharp Straight Razor From A Nail With No Power Tools~

This video will show how to forge a shaving sharp straight razor from a 6" medium carbon masonry nail with no power tools (other than a hand drill to make the hole for the pivot pin). It's definitely more rugged and by no means the prettiest straight razor out there (I have another video coming soon on a more traditional style, hollow ground razor using power tools), but it works and will show that you don't always need power tools to make something functional or sharp. I will use just regular hand tools, including a hatchet and my forged bushcraft knife and chisels for shaping the scales out of a maple round, file it to a flat grind with a micro bevel with sand paper, and treat the scales with raw linseed oil.
