New Zealand’s match with Italy was also cancelled as high winds, torrential rains and flooding are predicted to hit Japan. The matches will not be rescheduled as games that are cancelled due to bad weather are registered as scoreless draws. 'It is an exceptional, complex and rapidly evolving situation and team and public safety is the number one priority', Rugby World Cup outlined in a statement.
