Because in my petition I make it part of the law and permit to pick up all trash seen and all trash dug from the cape Hatteras beaches while metal detecting here and to leave the beach as you saw it and very beneficial and respectful things for wildlife and beaches. Also to report to authoritiesof historical significant finds such as big gold bars treasure chest and old historical finds like ships. Any modern jewelry can be held by the detectorist and entered into a database in which the person who loses it has thirty days to claim and provide some sort of proof of ownership. Picture and or receipt with description. If not detectorist can keep it.
