Getting the brain reconnected to the affected side can be difficult. In mirror therapy, the brain is 'tricked' into looking at the 'affected' side in the mirrored image of the unaffected side. Using a quiet place and working on this daily for extended periods of time, changes are encouraged in the brain's ability to move the affected hand or arm.
