Japan's current account surplus shrank on-year in the first half of this year,... due to sluggish exports to Asian countries.... amid trade tensions between the U.S. and China... as well as with South Korea.
According to a report by Japan's finance ministry on Thursday,... the current account surplus was down FOUR percent from the previous year... to nearly 99 billion U.S. dollars from January to June.
The goods trade surplus dropped sharply... due to a fall in shipments of semiconductor manufacturing equipment and auto parts to South Korea and China.
