This response video is to Tim Barnett's presentation on Stand to Reason, "Will Science Explain God Away." Writer Jack Ketchum, if he was around, would have told you: "End on the hard consonant," but... being as he isn't, I guess I'ma have to do that for you. So there ya go: do that, and your title will be stronger for it. That's what Dallas told me, and now, I pass it onto you--just a little bit of advice from your Uncle Coop. Mr. Barnett starts accurately describing the god of the gaps, yet is insistent that he, and Christians in general, don't do this. I have some issues. I share them herein.

43 Jack Ketchum's Advice: End Important sentences on a hard consonant.
06 "Let's Get This Done."
12 Intro Music "Rocked by Rape."
30 "Sometimes we need a supernatural conclusion." / Why is a supernatural conclusion required?
34 "As Natural Explanations Increase, Supernatural Decreases." / Agreed.
23 "God of the Gaps: That's What they think we're doing." / That's what you do.
55 "God of the Gaps: 'Is That What We're Doing?'" / Yes. Yes it is.
44 "God of the Gaps: 'Are we arguing from Ignorance? No!'" / Oh? Here Comes The Apologetic to twist it from that which they're doing but not what it is.
23 "We are positing god as the best explanation of the available evidence." / Gods are posited by supernatural literature, not evidence.
06 "I can prove it to you: Anthony (sic) Flew"/ Antony Flew, in the final years of his life, became a deist, kinda prime mover/pantheist. Not a Christian. Mr Barnett fails to point this out to his audience, for some reason.
53 Conflation of deism to Christianity, side order of appealing to authority, ergo not God of Gaps/ Horseshit it's not.
04 Appeal to authority: "It was the 'overwhelming evidence.'" / Where's the evidence? Oh. Closing credits. Guess that's in another video.
32 Recap. "It's a Stand To Reason Video, What'd I Expect? I'm Sitting, And I Haven't Heard Any Reason."

Also, I'm not saying Tommy McMurtry is sexually attracted to pumpkins. I'm saying we don't really know.
