This video reminded me of how much fun it is to conceptualize big ideas with others. Yesterday I wrote out on piece of paper four words. Create more, consume less. I thought about it for a minute. Why did I write this? What inspired me to feel this way? I constantly feel like I over consume content. Today the internet is flooded with endless photos to look at, videos to watch, and articles to read. How do you decide what content you should and shouldn’t consume? (This is more of a conversation to spark a thought in you, not to influence what you do with your life, that is your own choice.) I often find myself wanting to create more than I want to consume. I think this may be true for many people, but what we create is all different. I make videos, so it is pretty obvious that when I want to create something, what that something is going to be (a video). Next time you go to consume meaningless, time-wasting, or negative content (you know you’re doing it) I encourage you to instead tap into to the creative or curious section of your brain and try to spend a bit more time working on a passionate project of yours and make something! This can be cookies, a chair, a painting, a good habit, a poem, a plan, a friendship, a healthy meal, an idea, a story, or maybe even a video. Create more, consume less. Especially when what you’re consuming is not benefiting your life in any way. I also have no clue why my camera wasn't focusing in that introductory shot and it looks terrible. I apologize. But that section is more about the message anyway so it's okay.
