When I was a little kid, this was how we fixed the punctures in our bicycle tubes and automobile inner tubes. I don't know why our government in all its infinite wisdom decided to outlaw sizzle patches. These always worked. With this technique, we were our own vulcanizing shop under our own shade tree. I remember being upset when the ''modern'' patches came on the market.
