Middlemore Hospital staff increasingly escorted to cars over safety fears Security guards at Middlemore Hospital are escorting staff and visitors to their cars more than 4000 times a month as safety fears continue. The DHB says that's an eight-fold increase since March when two nurses were attacked as they left work on a weekend morning. But some staff say they are still nervous and would like more to be done.
