Dr. Harsh Vardhan has been appointed as Minister of Health and Family Welfare; Minister of Science and Technology; and Minister of Earth Sciences

Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi to be the Minister of Minority Affairs, Pralhad Joshi to be the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs; Minister of Coal; and Minister of Mines. And Mahendra Nath Pandey has been appointed as the Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

After being sworn-in, the new Modi government will hold its first Cabinet meeting at 5 pm today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and 57 ministers were sworn-in at a grand ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday evening. BJP president Amit Shah too took oath as a Cabinet Minister under the Modi cabinet.

While some of the most prominent faces from the previous government such as Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, I&B Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Union Health Minister JP Nadda were kept out of the Council of Ministers for various reasons.
