It's all about the infrastructure, and that now includes blockchain.

Innovation goes through phases, especially in the early days when it's just taking off. At that exploratory point, there's a lot of ultimately futile effort, but it's needed to sort out what is of value and what is not.

Despite the fact that blockchain is only a decade old, we've seen a massive explosion of pilots, platforms and experimentation.

I don't know when we're going to settle down into the "right way to do it" (and actually, I'm really enjoying this phase, so I secretly want it to last), but at some point it's all going to settle down.

And then blockchain, like railroad or telephone or ... well, sewerage treatment, is just going to be something we take for granted.

Everything is obvious, in hindsight.
