Arsenal news : How Newcastle takeover could affect Liverpool, Arsenal, Man Utd and Big Six

Arsenal news : How Newcastle takeover could affect Liverpool, Arsenal, Man Utd and Big Six Newcastle may well be on the cusp of something massive.  They are the latest team to potentially receive an influx of wealth, which could change the landscape of the football club for years to come.   Mike Ashley has agreed to stand down after 12 years in charge on Tyneside and sell Newcastle to Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nahyan for a whopping £350million.   Sheikh Khaled, who previously attempted a £2billion takeover of Liverpool, is a member of the member of the Abu Dhabi royal family.  He is one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the Gulf states, and as a result has some serious financial clout.   Perhaps one of the most exciting facts from a Newcastle fans' perspective is that Sheikh Khaled is also a distance relative of Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour.  The Citizens were a run of the mill team when Sheikh Mansour took over at the then named City of Manchester Stadium.   Money was instantly injected into the club, who managed to sign Real Madrid forward Robinho for a staggering £32.5million back in 2008.  Manchester City had just finished the season in ninth and could offer the Brazilian no Champions League football nor the prospect of a serious title charge.  But money speaks, and it wasn't long before more quality players followed suit.  There is nothing to suggest Newcastle will influence the transfer market in quite the same way as Manchester City did 11 years ago, should the takeover go through.  But betting markets are already standing up and taking note.   Newcastle, for example, are 25/1 to sign Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain this summer - shorter odds than Barcelona (40/1), Manchester United (66/1) and Bayern Munich (80/1).  Of course, the World Cup winner won't be signing for the Tyneside club, but the sheer fact his name is being linked with Newcastle shows the direction the Magpies could be heading.  As things stand the Big Six operate in a different league to the rest of the English top flight, but securing a top-four spot is very competitive.   Both Manchester United and Arsenal missed out on Champions League football this season and neither club will cherish the prospect of further competition.  One of Sheikh Khaled's first jobs will be to tie down Rafa Benitez to a new deal.   The Magpies manager has already proven he's top boss after he won the Champions League with Liverpool back in 2005.  With proper funding the Spaniard certainly has the potential to turn Newcastle into a top seven team, later, perhaps even a top four team.  Many things are already in place at Newcastle to help with the transition from mid-table side to royalty. The club boasts a huge stadium, a proud history and passionate fans.  Should the takeover go through this summer it should be an interesting one.  Benitez isn't the kind of manager to go wild with a transfer budget, but he'll certainly relish the prospect of making a few signings.  There won't be much pressure to achieve too
