Zeal Sports Academy at Zeal College of Engineering and Research provides opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to participate in a variety of sports and recreational activities. Since students develop and organize their own teams for various games, they have the opportunity to demonstrate and develop their leadership and decision making skills. The popularity of basketball, reflected by its worldwide appeal, rising number of competitions and growing interest shown by the public and mass media in basketball events, has prompted Zeal Education Society’s Zeal College of Engineering and Research Pune to establish and run successfully the Zeal Basket Ball Club. Zeal Basketball club is a premier basketball club and training academy helping students and teams reach the next level in their basketball career. Zeal Basketball club is a state-of-the-art, brand new court facility with 5000 square feet of outdoor court and training space. Standard sized basketball court in the college campus has been recently re-surfaced with asphalt under expert supervision. Basket Ball court is equipped with floodlights so that students can carry out practice in the late evenings also. The facility has the ability to convert into a full-sized collegiate court with professional style basketball backstops. Zeal Basketball club is well looked after by a proficient Director of Physical Education, and is guided by a keen sports person. The basketball courts are accessible to all students and separate coaches are present for both girls and boys to initiate them to the sport. The basketball team can always be seen practicing late in the night and the new facilities bode well for the future of the sport in the institute. Zeal basketball club organizes winter and summer basketball camps annually. Students from Zeal Basketball Club have participated and won number of prizes at Inter-Collegiate, University, State and National levels.
