17.6 lakh students appeared for CBSE Class X exams in 2019, and of them 2.5 lakh students scored 90 percent and above. Similarly,
CBSE Class XII results continued to defy gravity with 17, 690 students scoring above 90 percent.
Media created a sense of achievement and triumph for those who topped making them role models but what it also did was making life extremely difficult for those who scored below 90 percent, who felt ridiculed, and their self confidence shattered. So, while we celebrate and congratulate the rising number of 90 percenters, we are also asking, what's the option for students in our education system, who scored below 90%? We ask this and much more to eminent panelists:
Dr Nimesh Desai, Professor of Psychiatry and Director of Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences
Shiv Khera, Author, Activist & Motivational Speaker
Prof. Chandra Bhushan Sharma, Chairman, National Institution of Open Schooling
Madhura Phatak, Vice Principal ,DPS Siddharth Vihar
Vandana Sufi Katoch a parent whose facebook post became viral after she showed the courage of celebrating her son's 60 percetn marks
