The investing questions today span the following topics:
1) Individual dividend stocks vs. dividend ETFs (exchange traded funds)
* ETFs charge fees.
* With ETFs, you have to buy the entire ETF. At any given time, certain stocks in the ETF will be overvalued, and others will be undervalued.
* By contrast, I can cherry pick the values when I'm buying individual dividend stocks.
* In my humble opinion, ETFs do not provide any added protection as compared to my 40-stock portfolio. (That said, they could if someone would otherwise have a much smaller portfolio in terms of number of positions.)
* Individual stocks all the way for me!
2) What the "PPC" in "PPC Ian" actually means!
* PPC = "pay per click" as in pay per click digital marketing.
* I started my career in PPC digital marketing.
* Since then, the nickname has stuck!
3) How I look at a declining stock market! (As a dividend investors I love a declining stock market.)
* I am not worried about dividend cuts in a declining stock market, since I like to invest in the highest quality dividend stocks.
* A declining stock market allows my capital invested to purchase more cash flow.
* I love a declining stock market.
4) How S&P 500 index fund investors are exposed to risks they may not even know!
* Did you know? The S&P 500 will likely include Uber when it becomes a publicly traded company?
* Uber is unlikely to ever reach profitability!
* By owning the S&P 500, investors are exposed to these types of risks, and should be aware of the risk they are taking on!
5) Does it take thousands to start investing for dividends?
* I have personally built my stock portfolio brick by brick.
* Slow and steady wins the race with dividend investing.
* Dividend investing truly is for everyone!
