Mr Badal said that as an agriculture state, it is Punjab's misfortune that farmers are committing suicides due to debts," said the SAD president . Mr Badal said that empty coffers was a lame excuse and a cover up for non performance as the govt had not only hiked all taxes but even stopped welfare and development activity in the state. The SAD President reminded the people that during the SAD -BJP regime “ we never made excuses of empty coffers and always came to the rescue of the farmers, dalits , employees and always strove to work for all round development.”
The state in the last two years has been governed by compete disinterest as DA instalments have not been paid to employee nor had the Pay Commission been set up .
He said that In the last two years, no major projects have come to the state . Development activity has come to a standstill. No vacancies are being filled in govtt depttts as there is a virtual ban on recruitment despite Cong promise of one job in every household.
