Today we would be learning how to colour dusky skin (Indian) tone. Friends, Dusky colour is very beautiful. It has a lots of colours within it. Due to this reason, lots of learners face problem in colouring dusky skin, they either make it fair or very dark. The key to achieve correct skin colour in dusky tone is observing the skin very carefully and breaking it down in various colours it consist of. I have used Prisma colour pencils for colouring this drawing and turpentine oil for blending. I am only teaching how to colour herein, I am not teaching blending here with turpentine oil, which I have had already covered in my previous video:
Steps to colour Dusky Skin
• Observe the kin very carefully and try to segregate the various colours in the skin.
• Dusky skin is very rich in colours, it has colours like green, orange, brown, pink, beige and teal.
• The 1st task is to segregate the dark and light colours separately.
• Then start with the primary colour as the base, for this drawing, the base was brown and green colours
• Then layer it over with the darker shades of colours.
• Thereafter blend all the colours with turpentine oil.
• Next you have to smoothen out all the colours by using the white pencil.
